About the City Clerk's Office

The City Clerk's Office provides many services to both the public and other City departments, including clerical and records keeping, maintaining an accurate record and index of City Council, Community Redevelopment Agency, Housing Authority, and Reclamation Authority proceedings, and keeping a repository of contracts, agreements, and official legislative actions.

The Office accumulates an agenda packet of supporting documentation for each City Council, Community Redevelopment Agency, Housing Authority, and Reclamation Authority meeting, prepares resulting minutes, and ensures completion of directed actions; processes claims and lawsuits; provides voter registration information; and conducts the municipal elections.

The City Clerk's Office provides public information and responds to requests for public record information, certifies and distributes ordinances and resolutions, posts legal notices, and is responsible for maintaining and distributing the Irwindale Municipal Code.

The City Clerk is also responsible for ensuring compliance with the Maddy Act, making certain that the public is well informed of opportunities for participation on the City's commissions.

In accordance with the Political Reform Act, the City Clerk serves as filing officer/official for local campaign financial statements and for economic disclosure statements submitted by elected city officials and designated city employees.
