2.24.010 - Insignia—Designated.
The city adopts, as the official insignia and identifying symbol of the police department, the insignia depicted in Section 2.24.020. The insignia shall be a depiction of the badge of the city police department consisting of a silver shield device with the Great Seal of the state of California, in color, centrally mounted, surrounded by the words "City of Irwindale, California," in blue lettering. The fluting around the edge of the badge shall be gold in color with the words "Police Officer" in blue lettering set forth upon a gold colored semicircular strip at the top. Below the seal shall be inscribed with the words "Irwindale Police" in blue letters on a gold colored, curved band.

2.24.020 - Facsimile.
A facsimile of the official insignia and identifying symbol of the Irwindale Police Department is set forth below:

2.24.030 - Display on vehicles and equipment.
The official insignia and identifying symbol shall be prominently displayed on all vehicles of the city police department, and on such other equipment as the chief of police may from time to time determine in his discretion.

2.24.040 - Unauthorized use.
The official insignia and identifying symbol may not be used by any person or persons for any reason other than as specified in this chapter, except with the written permission of the city chief of police. Pursuant to the provisions of California Government Code, Sections 36901 et seq., any violation of this chapter shall be a misdemeanor, and any person so convicted of said violation will be punished in accordance with the provisions of Section 19 of the California Penal Code.
