In 2002 the Police Department implemented its Traffic Bureau that consists of two Motor Officers and a Commercial Enforcement Officer. The Traffic Bureau's primary responsibility is traffic education, enforcement, and accident investigation. Officers in the Bureau have received education in accident investigation, illegal street racing, and commercial enforcement. The Motor officer's utilize Laser and Radar to enforce speed laws in the city. Officers routinely conduct DUI and safety checkpoints within the city in an effort to keep the streets safe for all.
